About Me

Hi! I'm Laura "Lupin" Howard, a crafty lady living near Bristol (in south-west England). I drink a lot of tea, am partial to a nice bit of cake and am completely obsessed with felt. When I'm not busy making things, I'm usually writing about making things...

I used to run an online shop (Lupin Handmade) selling my hand-stitched felt creations along with colourful craft supplies. I loved sending parcels to customers around the world but after seven years I decided I wanted a different challenge and I'm now focusing on designing and writing.

I blog about my freelance projects, and about my personal crafting adventures. I always have a long list of new makes on my to do list!

I first discovered the joys of blogging back in 2007 when I started my Crafting 365 project to be crafty every day and blog about my progress. I think of my blog as a journal of my crafty life, and love how it's connected me to a whole community of amazingly creative and supportive people.

My work and the free projects on my blog have been featured in print magazines like Country Living, British Vogue, Elle Japan, Sewing World, Australian Homespun, Mollie Makes, Making, Craftseller, Sew, and Little Thing, as well as online at places like Apartment Therapy, Canadian Living, Creature Comforts, Chatelaine, Cool Mom Picks, Glamour Weddings, Mighty Girl, and Poppy Talk.

I've written two books about felt crafting. My first book, Super-Cute Felt, was published in 2011 and my second book, Super-Cute Felt Animals was published in 2013. They've since been republished in German, Dutch and Italian, and the second edition of Super-Cute Felt was published in 2017.
